Book Awards Program

In 2004 the Capitol Hill Campus began an ongoing program to recognize and promote readership among the student body. The Book Awards program was designed like this:

  • Teachers select a student who demonstrates passion for reading to create a book prize
  • The student selects a text that is particularly meaningful to them
  • The student chooses a fellow student to award the book to
  • At a meeting of the school community, the presenter gives the award in their name to the receiving student
