Letter to Parents Regarding Summer School

June 8, 2007

Dear Parents and Students,

Mandatory Summer School

Summer school is mandatory for all new and returning Chavez students. This year’s program operates from July 9-27. Ms. Ariel Gibbons will be the Director of Summer School.

Returning Students

Classes take place Monday through Friday. Morning session is from 8:00-12:00 noon and afternoon session will be from 12:30pm to 4:00pm.

Returning students who have passed all their courses may enroll in an off-campus educational/enrichment program. Mr. Phelan, Principal or Arturo Martinez, Academic Dean must approve the program before June 20th. Parents must submit documents that show the contents of the program, the dates and times of the program and an acceptance letter into the program.

If permission is not granted to a student, by the Principal or Academic Dean, to attend an alternative summer program, that student will receive an F for our summer school course, and may jeopardize his/her enrollment in the school.

If a student fails a Chavez course, then he/she must drop out of the summer program and go to Chavez summer school.

Sincerely,
Garrett Phelan
Principal
