Paraguay 2 Ms. Love and a team of three students that included Brenda Balcarcel, Montel Yancy, and Luz Flores, traveled with the LearnServe Program to Paraguay this summer. The program is sponsored by the Center for International Education and focuses on bringing international policy awareness to schools in the D.C. area and supporting foreign communities in need.

While in Paraguay the team of students lived with local host families and worked as student leaders at a community center in an impoverished neighborhood of the capital city of Asuncion. Their work focused on sustainable education projects in computer science, art, health education, and environmental science. The students will continue to support students and families in Paraguay in the coming school year through fund raising and a health drive to collect personal care items that can be sent to families in need.
